What inspired you to launch your own website?
The fact that I could make my work reach many different countries rather than just nationally in the UK where I lived at the time.

I launched www.janeburton.com in 1997
How did you decide on a name for your website?
:) its my name
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Its a bang up to date look by a brilliant web designer, using a bit of flash, its so easy to use, its informative and updated once a week with news and offers and has lots of useful resources.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
No particular goal, it changes its look every 2 years at the most so its evolving and re inventing itself constantly.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The success of the site far outstrips any investment either financial or time.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
No amount of money would make me happier with my site than I am today
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Absolutely its a labour of love.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Only once in 11 years have I experienced a headache with a host but thats resolved now and has been for some years. You live and learn.
What has been your biggest challenge?
SEO
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
SEO, word of mouth, a well constructed site and links.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasnt so far, its hard work but enjoyable.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
For 11 years now I will keep it going for as long as I possibly can.
