Computer Divination

11/25/09 09:22

In this time and age, a lot of people would consider divination to be a lost art, or probably something that only has a little following as compared to before, mostly people who reside in the countryside where the influences of urbanism is hardly felt. In the city, it is very rare to find a genuine psychic, and if you do find someone, it probably costs so much for a service.

But divination, as in the past when it survived for thousands of years, knows how to adapt to the situation, the current trends, and the current techonology that the present generation of human beings present. Divination knows how to maneuver itself to the minds of the people after doing so for a very long time.

Now that we are in the age of computers and the Internet, we are starting to see more and more online divination "experts" doing the job of foreseeing one's future. For a small fee, it is now possible to answer your life's question without the long hunt for a psychic. Everything is already laid down in front of you with just one click of the mouse. This practice is called cybermancy, which literally translate to divination using computers.

Cybermancy systems are actually based on rituals originally created in non-electronic and traditional divination practices, such as Tarot reading, crystal ball reading, and such. They usually exist as software systems created to imitate the actual process of divination using the more traditional forms of divination.

Tracking the phase of the moon is one example. Astrologers have long used to observe the skies themselves to see the phases of the moon. Nowadays, computers are used instead to facilitate and spee up this otherwise tedious job.

Unfortunately, cybermancy has been to much criticism, even from some practitioners of divination themselves. For these practitioners, having a physical medium to channel the energies is important in getting correct results. They say that this is countered by the "cold" interface between a user and the computer.

Whatever the criticisms are, as long as people hold on to this new kind of divination, it will still flourish.

Cyber Divination or "Cybermancy" isn't well received by most directories and search engines. They either have no place to list this type of entertainment or place it where it does not belong. Visit me here and click til your content.
