Once I dreamed of having my soul away from my body, able to freely move on its own without restriction from its masters. My soul was able to visit people who were dear to me, and at some point I really thought that I was already dead, and that I was in that point when my soul drifts for a while.
In truth, what I probably experienced then may actually be true, and that my astral body may have been actually away from my body for a bit while. It's an out-of-body experience that usually happens during the lucid state of one's sleep cycle., which allows our soul to move into an astral body free from the physical body in a parallel environment. This thought is actually linked to the afterlife, where the soul is also said to travel first before heading on to his/her new "assignment."
For most Western philosophers, the astral body is thought to be an intermediate body of light that connects the spirit of a human with his/her physical body. Unlike the spirit, the astral body is less free from the physical body. Unlike the physical body, the astral body is not as bound. It is free to move around, although a link between it and the physical body is still there to ensure that he/she comes back. This bond cannot, in any case, be broken, because that would mean that the astral body may be lost forever.
The idea of astral projection is not really new. Hundreds, if not thousands, of accounts have been presented all throughout the years. Many books have been writtena about it as well, including those of Robert Monroe, Oliver Fox, and Yram. You can go and visit your local bookstore to read more about their thoughts on astral projection.
Admittedly, I'm no expert about this matter. I don't know how my supposedly astral projection, and I don't know how I could possibly do it again. Maybe I could do it again someday and, maybe, I would know how to do it again and again.
